Lemon Peel (Seed) Stitch

The Lemon Peel Stitch is very simple and pretty stitch. It is perfect for a baby blanket, especially a NICU or premie, because it does not have many holes. It works up quickly, but I would suggest adding a nice border for a blanket or shawl. If done with cotton yarn it would make a great wash cloth or dish rag.

SC-Single Crochet

Pattern

Chain an even number of stitches that is the desired length of the finished piece.

Row 1: SC in 2nd chain form hook, DC in the next chain, SC in next, DC in next. Continue until the end. You should end with a SC. Chain 1 and turn.

Row 2: SC in the first stitch, DC in the next stitch. SC in next, DC in next. Continue until the end. Chain 1 and turn.

Continue with Row 2 until the desired size is reached.

See, super simple and works up so nicely. I have a couple of pictures of the stitch in progress below, in case you need it. And of course, if you have any questions, feel free to reach out.

Thank you for joining me.

Blessings,

Sue

The first SC is placed where the needle indicates

The DC goes in the very next stitch following where the SC was placed.
